The joy of Nwangele people, in Nwangele local government area of the state, knew no bound yesterday, as they rolled out their drums in appreciation of the giant strides recorded by their illustrious son, Hon. Ugonna Ozuruigbo (OZB), who currently represents the area in the Imo State House of Assembly.
The occasion which attracted major political stakeholders in the state, including the state APC chairman, Dr. Hiliary Ekeh and the executive members of the party, secretary to the state government, Prof. Anthony Anyuka, members of the State House of Assembly, Commissioners and other relevant stakeholders in Nwangele Local government area.
The state governor, Owelle Rochas Okoroacha, who was represented by the secretary to the state government, Prof. Anthony Anwuka, in his speech, described Hon. Ozuruigbo, as a man with the Midas touch, who delights in alleviating the sufferings of his people.
He maintained that Hon. Ozuruigbo, has distinguished himself in the service of his people, adding that such major milestone recorded by the lawmaker was synonymous with the Rescue Mission philosophy of the state governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, which he said was aimed at taking democracy dividends down to the doorsteps of the people.
He further commended Hon. Ozuruigbo for his unparalleled leadership qualities in the area and enjoined Nwangele people to enable the lawmaker sustain this tempo by massively queuing into the Rescue Mission train afforded by the All Progressives Congress, APC, to secure their tomorrow.
Addressing the mammoth crowd of his constituents, party faithful, supporters friends and well-wishers who trooped out in their larger numbers to witness the event, Hon. Ugonna Ozuruigbo, thanked his people for their continued support and solidarity which he said have propelled him in his quest to ensuring that Nwangele people were liberated from those whom he said have sworn that the area would perpetually remain in political servitude to them and their cronies.
He added that the empowerment program was organized to give his people a sense of belonging and as well, appreciate them for their long-stand support to the present administration?s commitment to uplift the state out of the murky terrains of under-development, stressing that the essential motive of any government was totally embedded in its selfless service to the people.
The lawmaker further used the forum to shower encomiums on the state governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, for his capacity in bringing governance back to the people, adding that his aggressive transformation of the various sectors of the state?s economy, as well as his charismatic style of leadership, no doubt, have successfully re-launched the overall confidence of the masses of the state back to the institution of government.
He enjoined his constituents to remain resolute in their total support to the All Progressives Congress, APC in the state, assuring that the needed change which he said had already made an in-road in the area would only continue, as the present administration in the state was totally committed to the overall welfare of the citizens of the state.
Some of the beneficiaries who spoke to journalist at the event, hinted that the distribution of the over 20 vehicles and 45 motorcycles to people of the area was unprecedented in the history of Nwangele, and prayed God to continue His blessings in the life and career of the lawmaker to enable him serve his people better.
