Even though the Black Stars failed to go past the Group stage of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, the potential of the Ghana team seems to have been noticed by technical brains around the world, culminating in a jostling for the country?s coaching job.

The position became vacant after Coach Kwesi Appiah was sacked a few weeks ago, and reports gathered by DAILY GUIDE SPORTS indicate that high profile coaches are among the 28 persons that have submitted applications for the job.
The applicants include Bernd Shuster, former Chelsea boss Avram Grant and Dutch legend Patrick Kluivert.
Grant, who had been linked to the technical director post of the Black Stars, applied before the Friday deadline.
The 59-year-old was appointed technical director at Thai Premier League club BEC Tero Sasana five years ago.
Kluivert was assistant coach to Louis Van Gaal at the 2014 FIFA World Cup finals and was among the 28 coaches who applied.
He had a successful playing career for the Dutch national team and for club sides Ajax Amsterdam, Barcelona and Newcastle.
Another big fish in the hunt for the job is former Real Madrid and Getafe coach Shuster who is a German.
The trio are said to be among the shortlisted 11 after the Ghana FA sieved the applications on Tuesday.
The number will be cut to six by the end of the week before a substantive coach is named.
Meanwhile, Ghana FA Executive Committee member Fred Pappoe insists Milovan Rajevac has not been appointed coach of the Black Stars despite subtle rumours to the contrary.
The Serbian is said to be the overwhelming favourite to land the job again as the replacement for his former assistant Kwesi Appiah.
The speculations arose as a result of his successful stint with the Black Stars between 2008 and 2010.
But Fred Pappoe, who is part of the search committee for a new coach, has dismissed the claims.
?How can you say that [Milovan Rajevac has been appointed]? Then it means you are insulting us if the decision has already been taken to give the job to Milo,? Pappoe said.
?And when you do that also you put Milo in a bad light because then people will shy away from considering him for the job.
?We will continue to do our work and present our recommendations to the Executive Committee for a final decision to be taken.?
Mr Pappoe also revealed that the announcement on who succeeds Kwesi Appiah as Ghana?s coach will be made in October.
Reports in the local media claimed a substantive coach would be named on Friday to handle next month?s 2015 AFCON qualifiers against Guinea.
But Pappoe says Ghanaians would have to wait a little longer.
?We are not in a hurry to appoint a new coach. We should appoint a stop gap coach to take care of the game against Guinea and take our time in naming a good coach to come in after that. We are looking at somewhere in October.?
