The event which was organized in the community was part of the Foundation’s activities to mark the end of the year; by putting smiles on the faces of the beneficiaries and to give them hope and a sense of belonging.

About two hundred widows and aged were screened with their blood level checked.

b956f274-a9d7-41ac-af1c-3b071cbd5adcSpeaking to, Randy Danquah, Founder of RAKOD Foundation, described Christmas as a season to express love and share with the vulnerable adding: “Is my greatest joy to bring together the aged and widows; to eat, drink, dance and have fun.”

He said, said the Foundation meets with the aged and widows to discuss their health and welfare, which includes a free health screening exercise and health talks.

He also noted that health issues are the major problems confronting the aged, and so, next year the foundation would embark on more health screening exercises and take-up their medical treatment.

According to Randy Danquah the foundation’s major challenges is funding since the laudable initiatives had to do with money and called on churches, benevolent individuals and organisations, to support the activities of the foundation.

“We humbly appeal to the public to donate foods, clothes or assist in any form via 0266776858, 0249174715,” he added.

Also, the Assembly Woman for Heman South, Madam Dora Obenewa was enthused about the project the foundation brought into her community and expressed appreciation to members of the Foundation.

Osaaberima Mmirrikkissi Obeng Apori Atta 1, the chief of Akyem Hemang was also very thankful to RAKOD Foundation for their support. According to him, the community members are faced with  different ailments including diabetes, high blood pressure, cancer among others and that such exercises undertaken by RAKOD Foundation will give his people the opportunity to know what is wrong and the right medication to take so as to prolong their lives.

He called on the foundation to frequent the community with their projects.

Beneficiaries also expressed gratitude to the foundation for the kind gesture and appealed to benevolent individuals and organisations to support the activities of the foundation and as a matter of urgency consider the welfare of the aged as a social responsibility.
