The National Human Rights Commissions (NHRC) has called on the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences (ICPC) to beam its search light on bureaucrats instead of restricting their search on politicians.
NHRC Chairman, Professor Bem Angwe, made the comment yesterday when he visited ICPC acting Chairman Ekpo Nta in Abuja. Angwe said the commission never received any petition of human rights violation against the ICPC, saying the actual violation of human rights in Nigeria is corruption because it is responsible for poverty, insecurity, among others. Responding, Nta said ICPC was ready to partner with NHRC and other agencies in its fights against corruption.
