The Africa Cup of Nations is one of the continent?s most anticipated sports events. It started on 17th January and social media will no doubt be abuzz with players and fans getting on Twitter to get the latest updates and scores from Equatorial Guinea who are the hosts this year.

Twitter is an information sharing platform that enables people to consume, create and share ideas and information on diverse events instantly, without barriers. Individuals are also able to receive real time feedback and interact with everyone from various regions of the world.

The four-time African champions, the Black Stars, have long been regarded as one of Africa?s footballing powerhouse. With the caliber of high profile players expected to turn out for the Black Stars led by inspirational captain Asamoah Gyan, dependable midfield duo of Christian Atsu and Andre Ayew, Ghana will arguably be deemed as one of the hot favourites to win this year?s tournament.
