President John Dramani Mahama?s ridiculous behaviour is pointing to the skies and proclaiming that he is not in control of the country but rather God in control.

It is a popular political antic he adopted during and after the 2012 election and it caught well with the electorates since majority of Ghanaians are Christians so they let in with that antics to deceive them.

But when the first gentleman on political platforms points to the skies and ask you to look up do you do exactly that?

Yeah? No not me RASTA. When the president look up and ask me to do same, I will not but instead look down maybe I would be stepping on a cobra.

Another vain promise president Mahama made to Ghanaians during the 2012 electioneering campaign was the completion of roads in the Eastern, Western and Central corridors.

However President Mahama-led NDC government having been in power for almost two years are still struggling to secure funds to complete the said road constructions promised the people for their votes.

Since the Supreme Court ruled that he was in fact validly elected president and dismissed the NPP election petition, he has travelled from Accra to Kumasi on several occasions.

Accra-Kumasi road construction has been a campaign promise of the NDC since 2008. Everyday in and everyday out, fatal accidents that occur on the road claims precious lives and the president seems not bothered about it.

Recently, news went round that the president was embarking on duty tour to the Ashanti Region and also to grace the Otomfuo?s anniversary over his ascension to the Golden Stool.

I particularly monitored the news to find out whether the president and his entourage were going to screech in a presidential convoy on the Accra through Nsawam, Suhum to Kumasi road.

It would have offered the president the greatest opportunity for him to access the situation on the road by himself and understand why many are crying for major constructions to be done to it.

He would have been shocked to observe the dusty nature of some parts of the road which turns hot sunny afternoon into an evening when screeching on the road. He would need no binoculars to watch the big potholes on the road as well as the developing potholes on the road.

But no, he flew from Accra to Kumasi in the presidential jet therefore missing all the spots that makes the road a death trap for many Ghanaians.

President Mahama would have understood why about 2,200 Ghanaians lost their lives through road accidents in 2012 as some 14,169 others were injured, some of them possibly disabled for life according to Joy News.

Road accidents between January and August 2013, killed over 1,323 as Motor Traffic and Transport Unit MTTU of the Ghana Police Service recorded and published by Daily Guide.

The statistics indicated every month in 2013, over 165 people were killed in ghastly road crashes while more than five people were killed daily on the roads such as Konong-Kumasi highway, Tamale-Bolgatanga highway, roads in Cape Coast and Accra.

Meanwhile five hundred and twenty people have died through road crashes in 3,512 accidents nationwide in the first quarter of 2014.

In addition, 3,301 people sustained various degrees of injuries in the process according to National Road Safety Commission and published by Daily Graphic.

Two years in president Mahama-led NDC administration look at the number of precious lives that have been lost due to bad nature of the country?s roads.

Maybe president Mahama?s pointing to the skies and proclaiming that God is in control of the nation?s situation does not mean that.

He might be telling Ghanaians I promised you roads but look I would be flying the country side in a presidential jet so who cares about the bad nature of the roads.

It is time to poke the president to keep him awake to fulfill his promises one of them was construction of good roads to ensure the safety of local traveling citizens.

Look down when the president ask you to look up. You may be falling in a ditch on the roads.
