
Alhaji Mohammed Muniru Limuna, the Northern Regional Minister, has sworn into office two new Municipal and District Chief Executives (MDCEs).
Mr Issah Zakaria for Yendi Municipality and Mr Mumuni Isaac Dramani for Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District were recently re-nominated by the President and subsequently confirmed by their assemblies.
Alhaji Limuna administered the oaths of allegiance, secrecy and office to the new MDCEs at a ceremony in Tamale on Tuesday.
He appealed to all interest groups in the assemblies to put the past behind them and forge ahead towards the development of their respective assemblies.
He said the focus of district assemblies was to ensure development and appealed to all to support the MDCEs to succeed and told them that their duty was to work to better the lot of the vulnerable and they should not disappoint the people.
Mr Zakaria thanked the President for the confidence reposed in them by re-nominating them.
