World acclaimed security lock, Union Locks has re-entered the Ghanaian market after several decades of absence.
Union locks, which was hitherto a household name, was widely acclaimed for its reliability and durability.
The lock is currently being marketed by ASSA ABLOY, a global leader in door opening solutions. ASSA ABLOY recently opened a shop in Ghana to explore new business opportunities.
The company launched its operations in Ghana on Thursday.
ASSA ABBLOY stocks next generation access controls systems which spans security doors, key locks and keyless locks.
Gavin van Staden, Vice President Sales and Marketing Africa, attributed ASSA ABLOY’s decision to open a branch in Ghana to the good economic environment in the country.
“Ghana is making a lot of strides both in the economic and political front culminating in a stable democracy,” Mr. Staden said. The company plans to use Ghana as a launch pad into other key markets in the West African sub-region.
“We know there are enough opportunities in countries in West Africa as well and will be extending our frontiers to those territories,” said Mr. Staden
“At ASSA ABLOY, we apply intelligent technology to optimize the security, safety and convenience of our door opening solutions, effectively our customers’ diverse and dynamic needs,” said James Nyagah, Managing Director of ASA ABLOY Ghana.
The long absence of Union locks -the flagship product of ASSA ABLOY in Ghana, has opened up the market to several substandard imitations, however the company says its presence would flush out all imitations.
“ASSA ABLOY’s locks and systems meet the highest demands for quality, design and functionality and are found in a wide range of security systems around the world,” noted Mr. Nyagah.
ASSA ABLOY operates some 100 brands globally and would be marketing all these brands in Ghana for both residential and commercial use.
