She also appealed to the new Omanhene to work with the chiefs to fight poverty.

According to the queen mother, in the past the Wenchi Traditional Council offered scholarships to needy but brilliant students to study both at home and abroad but sadly all those dreams had been shattered.

She called on Nana Tabrako to bring back those glorious days because as an academic he knows what education can do for the people.

Nana Sramangyadua said since the new Omanhene held the Afena Nketia, sacred state sword to swear to the chiefs and people of Wenchi, litigations in Wenchi should stop for development to take place.

She said development stalled after the death of Omanhene Nana Mbore Bediatuo nine years ago.

The Adontenhene of Wenchi Traditional Area and acting president of the Traditional Council also advised the new Omanhene to respect his elders and also consult them regularly.

He also admonished him to use his rich experience as an academic and former ambassador to help develop Wenchi.
