Benin launches awareness campaign to boost security

A statement from the interior ministry said the “campaign will make each citizen, in his office or at home, to contribute to promotion of security.”

“With the increased security threats, it became necessary that citizens who are the main beneficiaries of a secure environment, make their contribution to its achievement,” the statement said.

The partnership has become crucial given that it is impossible for security forces to be everywhere to prevent all manner of criminal acts, it added.

In this regard, the statement pointed out, the interior ministry expects all local elected leaders as well as citizens to report to authorities any suspected individual in hotels, public places, offices as well as along the borders. Enditem
