The Kings Football Tournament (KFC) has announced its maiden U17 tournament in Gbawe, Accra. The tournament is focused on supporting committed and professional young players and their teams to be recognized and get their careers on the path of greater heights.
The two day tournament which will commence from 25th – 26th November at the Gbawe Cluster of Schools Park features eight colts under 17 teams from Ghana. The KFC tournament is a non-residential and teams would convey to the tournament ground early morning for the two-day event.
Speaking to members of the press, Mr. Micheal Anfo Aesel, the commissioner of the matches outlined the systems the tournament has put in place to ensure a smooth and professional atmosphere for competitive football.
The KFC tournament is targeting teams that are physically fit for the matches and players who are emotionally stable to handle opponents. Adding that one’s tough opponent brings out the best in the person. “We are hoping that high quality teams that has developed their football tactics and techniques will bring it to the matches for visibility by bringing out the best in each player for cross learning among other coaches and players”.
Mr Aesel, who is also the administrator of the Noble Arrics FC and a general secretary of the Accra North Football Association, said he is committed to offering prompt decisions and advice to ensure that teams of the tournament are safe and secure, adding that he will work hard to afford each team the best environment to compete
Mr. Aesel noted that his responsibility includes inspection of the field of play prior to the start of a game. This will ensure that demarcation are done properly, and there are no foreign demarcations on the park. Additionally, he will chair the meeting of referees and officials of both teams prior to the start of a game to address jersey colours, rules of the game, first aid and safety for all.
“My job will also ensure that my assistant and l will watch the match from an eagle eye perspective to observe the performance of the referee and his assistants. This will help me to submit a comprehensive report to the management of the tournament to submit a detailed report”, he added
