MOFAYA Motivates GHBSUIsaac Koumessina, PR and Communications Manager of the company said this is just the beginning of greater things to come for Ghana Boxing.

“We just want to motivate the fans and boxers with this token, but greater things are on the way, and we promise to support Ghana Sports” he said.

He urged more people to join GHBSU and propagate the news of its formation as well as be disciplined for others to follow.

Samuel Djan thanked Mofaya Energy Drink and promised to sustain the new supporters group dedicated to the development and promotion of boxing in Ghana.

Jacob Zwennes told the fans never to lose hope in life and as supporters, but GHBSU can follow Ghanaian boxers everywhere in the world to inspire boxers.

The Ghana Boxing Supporters Union (GHBSU) was inaugurated Accra on March 6, 2017 as part of the 60th Independence celebrations.

The event took place at the Bronx Boxing Gym and attracted a lot of boxing fans.

Nii Nettey Nettey, Secretary of the Union said they are in to support Ghana Boxing and would support every Ghanaian boxer who is engaged in international bout and support the various boxing gyms all over Ghana.
He noted that support for boxing has been neglected, while it is boxing that has brought the nation more honours.

According to Nii Nettey, they promise to be disciplined and not to misbehave during boxing matches and hope to attract sponsors like the other supporting clubs that support football.

He said their major aim is to sustain the interest of the game of boxing and spread the support nationwide.

“Very soon we hope to open branches in the other regions where boxing is popular” he said.

They would also pursue government agencies and mandatory bodies that oversee the development and promotion of boxing to give the sport the needed support and respect it deserves as well as sustain the interest of the populace in the game, so that Ghana Boxing takes its proper place in Africa and the world at large.

The founding fathers of GHBSU include Fred Lokko, Carl Lokko, Nii Nettey Nettey, Samuel Djan, Dela Mcbrown, Dauda Fuseini, Ashie Kotey, David Acquaye, Nii Amu Coffie, Stephen Ashie and Sammy Heywood Okine.
