The convict was charged for drug offences when he was put before the court presided over by Mr Francis Obiri.
The prosecuting officer, Chief Inspector Patrick Hanson stated that, at about 4:00am on October 2, 2012, the Narcotics Unit Board embark on an operation to clamp down on the drug-related activities at Konu, a village near Kedjebi in the Volta Region.
During the course of the operation, he said the police nabbed and arrest Gershon Owusu on suspicion of dealing in narcotic drugs.
On a thorough search in his room, a quantity of dried leaves suspected to be cannabis sativa found.
The suspect, he said was therefore brought to the CID Headquarters for further investigation.
Gershon Owusu, in his caution statement indicated that the exhibit found in his room belonged to him, and were collected from a farm where he worked previously and they were to be used as feed for his fowls.
