Fight Near Ghana, Cote d'Ivoire Border Kills 4 Taxi Drivers

Reports from the Ivorian side of the Ghana-Cote d?Ivoire border at Elubo indicate that five Peple have been killed in a heavy gun battle in the area.

SpyGhana can confirm that the point of entry was closed to vehicles and people on Friday due to the fighting that erupted on Friday.

It has also been confirmed that security forces are now on sight to see to calmness in the area.

However, over 150 Ghanaians have left the Cote d?Ivoire to Ghana using canoes. Security forces have assured that they will see to it that only Ghanaians cross to Ghana in the canoes.

The fight erupted when armed men on the Ivorian side of the border attacked three different locations in Cote d?Ivoire, including a police post at a location called Ponbie Gonzak Ville.

Reporters on sight on Friday, said many vehicles and thousands of commuters who normally did business between the two countries were stranded at the border.

Even so, Security Officers at the Western Region have assured the residents to be calm since they have it all under control
