According to the family, the nine year-old-boy is having difficulty in swallowing after he mistakenly drank caustic soda mixed with water.
Madam Abenaa Naome, a fish monger and Richmond?s grandmother, told the Ghana News Agency at Kwame-Danso that the incident happened on September 7.
She explained the child was sent to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for medication, adding that doctors inserted a tube into his abdomen.
?I have to give food and water to him through the tube to sustain him,? Madam Naome said, and appealed to religious and corporate organisations, philanthropists as well as well-to-do individuals to support the victim to undergo the operation.
She said the family organised a fund raising rally in the area to support the him but it yielded only GH? 800.00
