Allocate 50 Of The 200 Promised SHS’ To Voc/Tech Inst.


Managers and Principals of Vocational/Technical Institutes in the country have called for the establishment of more Vocational/Technical Training Institutes in all Districts to offer employable skills to the teeming youth in the country.


The call has been buttressed with a call by the Manager of the Gomoa Adaa Vocational/Technical Training Institute, Mr. Erasmus Kobina Sam, on the government to allocate 50 of the 200 promised SHS’ to Vocational/Technical Training Institutes.

Mr Sam made the call during ten commissioning of a Girls’ Hostel of the Institute and Fund Raising Ceremony for the completion of the project.
According to him, unlike Secondary education, Vocational/ Technical education offer the students already made skills which is required on the job market.

He said, apart from this, Vocational/Technical training also makes the students become self employed.
He mentioned developed countries in Europe and Asia, where he said they have advanced because of emphasis on Vocational/Technical education.

As part of their contribution towards the project a US Peace Corps donated GH?15,000.00 for the completion of the project.
Present at the ceremony was the Chief of Gomoa Adaa, Nana Oku Twere Bekow IV and the Director of Excellent Cooling Technology, Mr Eric Kwamina Arhin who is the Board Chairman of the School.
