According Daily Guide Editor, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako he received a message from Martin Amidu on Saturday from Mr Amidu titled ‘Necessity for face to face debate between Martin Amidu and Anas Aremeyaw Anas’.

“I, Martin Amidu is willing to engage at Anas Aremeyaw Anas in a direct debate at his announced appearance on Citi FM or Joy FM or Starr FM on condition that he will not be hooded and will come along with his company registration and regulations for Tiger Eye PI in Ghana or Tiger Eye PI Limited as his lawyer now claims and his licence/licenses to operate a private investigation organization under sections 1 and 5 of the Police Service private security organizations regulations 1992 LI 1517.
It will be important for him to produce the regulations of Tiger Eye PI Media Limited and its licence and permits under LI 1517.
It is also important that the public hear both of us at the same forum to determine the merits of each of our cases.
I have no reason to be hooded even though I know that government will rather I were dead and it will be unfair of me to debate someone whose face I cannot see in order to assess his demeanor for credibility, uneasiness and truthfulness.
No lawyers or experts will be allowed to join in the debate.
The hood should only be removed in the studio in the presence of only the presenter, me and him so that the likelihood that I will wish to expose his face to the public will not arise.”
Martin Martin Amidu, popularly known as “Citizen Vigilante”, has accused Anas of fraud for operating a firm which is not registered and licensed to undertake private investigations and other activities that the firm is currently engaged.
He has also accused the investigative journalist of conspiring with government to sweep a corruption investigation about Ghana’s parliament under the carpet.
Mr Amidu says Anas was commissioned by government to undertake the recent judicial investigation which implicated 34 high profile judges in a corruption scandal.
Anas Aremeyaw Anas has refuted all these claims and asked Mr. Amidu to provide tangible evidence to back his claims.
