LAGOS — BARELY one year after National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, discovered hard drug manufacturing company in Kirikiri Town, Lagos, another plant where similar drugs were being manufactured has been uncovered at Satellite Town in Oriade Local Government Council Area of the state.
The drugs, according to the agency, tested positive for methamphetamine. Four suspects, three Bolivians and a Nigerian have been arrested in connection with the discovery. Two brothers have also been declared wanted by the anti-drug agency for allegedly being accomplices to the arrested suspects.
Chairman of the agency, Mr Ahmadu Giade, who disclosed this, Tuesday, at the agency’s Lagos office, said the arrested suspects were currently being interrogated and would be prosecuted and deported afterwards.
He said his men, acting on a tip-off, discovered the manufacturing site on February 3, 2012. It was learnt that the company had been in operation for the past eight months.
He said: “On February 3, 2012, our operatives at the Lagos State Command discovered another clandestine laboratory installed for the illicit production of methamphetamine somewhere around Daily Times Estate, Satellite Town, Lagos.”
