Ashgold Midfielder Malik Akowuah Appears Before Ghana Fa Status Committee
AshGold midfielder Malik Akowuah appeared before the Ghana Football Association Status Committee last week over contractual disputes.
The Miners reported the 23-year-old workaholic midfielder to the Ghana Football Association for going AWOL and reportedly signing contract for rivals Medeama SC.
But he has rejected new contract offer from AshGold, giving clear indications he would walk away as a free agent in August when his current contract runs out.
However, Akowuah has always denied signing a deal with Medeama and was turned away from AshGold training by Bashir Hayford when he showed up at the club?s training grounds at the Oforipanin training ground two weeks ago.
AshGold want the Status Committee to investigat the issue to establish whether the midfielder has signed a deal with Medeama and dully apply sanctions.
Medeama have rubbished AshGold?s claims and insisted the player has not binding agreement with them however, they admit he has expressed interest in joining them.
