It said the Ghana News Agency (GNA) got it all wrong and that the Deputy Coordinating Director, Mr Simon Twum Nkansah, had been misunderstood and misrepresented.
The assembly said he did not make the statements attributed to him at a project impact assessment meeting held at Nyinahin and asked that these were retracted.
The meeting attended by department heads, assembly and unit committee members provided the forum for the review of the GNA/STAR-Ghana media auditing and tracking of development projects, launched to put a spotlight of how government?s resources were helping to transform the lives of the people, particularly the rural population.
The goal is to aid transparency, promote accountability and good local governance.
The assembly expressed deep worry with what it said could be an unintended negative effect of the story on the people area.
