Minister for Youth and sports, Mahama Ayariga has expressed his wish for the Black Stars to win the impending AFCON to be hosted by Equatorial Guinea.
He expressed this wish on his visit to the Upper East Region to inspect the various sporting facilities in the Region and deliberate on how to develop these facilities.
According to him, the country and the Ghana Football Association has done its part with providing them with all the logistics they need as a team so nothing is preventing the players from achieving the ultimate which is the trophy.
“We expect them to go and win. We believe that Ghana is in good standing when it comes to African football and Ghana is respected by her colleagues in international football. The Government and the Football Association has done everything within her means to provide all logistics so that the players will not be distracted by anything.”
He acknowledged that “the Black Stars have a herculean task with the group she finds herself in, but with the good Coach and a team of talented players Ghana has, the country will make a cut at the tournament.”
The Black Stars are currently camping in Spain and will move to Equatorial Guinnea where this year’s AFCON will be hosted.
