Former Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has told talkSPORT this afternoon that he believes Gareth Bale will stay at the north London club beyond this?summer,?and spoke of his desire to move on some?of the players at?Queens Park Rangers.
When asked whether Bale would be at Tottenham next season, he said: ?Yeah, I think he will. Gareth won?t want to leave, he?s happy at Tottenham.
?He?s not an over-ambitious lad. He wants to be successful obviously but he?s not someone I can see moving to Real Madrid at this stage in his life.
?His football is going great, he?s PFA Footballer of the Year and loved in this country by?football fans?who know the game.
?He?s very happy at Tottenham and I can see him staying for at least another year. Eventually he?ll feel it?s time to give it a go abroad, somewhere like Barcelona or Real Madrid, because he is capable of playing anywhere.
?He is the third best player in the world at the moment, behind Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.?
When asked about Tottenham doing better next season, Redknapp said: ?They have got the nucleus of a good side. Jan Vertonghen was top class last year and I can see them making the top four next season, but it?s going to be tough.
?Chelsea and?Man City?will get better and Arsenal have got to get better. They scraped into the Champions League this year but it?s an Arsenal team that is nowhere near some of the last 10-15 years.
?It?s the poorest Arsenal team I?ve seen in a few years but they still managed to scrape into fourth. I don?t think they?ll get away with that next year, they?ll need to improve in the summer.?
Harry also admitted he?s desperate to move on many of QPR?s top earners,?but is finding the task difficult. He said: ?It?s going to be hard. People talk about getting rid of players but it?s the hardest thing in the world. How do you get rid of them when they have contracts and are earning a lot of money? It?s not going to be easy.
?I?m not worried about whether they want to play in the Championship, they have dumped us in there. It?s up to them to get us out of it. I?ve got no time for people who play at?football clubs?and then when they?re relegated say, ?I don?t want to play in the Championship, I?m a Premier League player and I want to leave now?.
?If they were that good then maybe they wouldn?t have got relegated. There are some good lads here and we can build a new team, we just need to shift some players if we can.
?There are some good players who will be moving on, the?goalkeeper?Julio Cesar is a top player but he?ll probably move, there?s a few lads like that Adel Taarabt and Armand Traore that want to move. They feel they can play elsewhere. Jose Bosingwa is someone who needs to move on and play elsewhere.
?The Championship is going to be very tough and you need people who are going to be out there every week for you.
?Last year we had a lot of players who would play?on Saturday?and wouldn?t be able to train again until Thursday or?Friday.
?They are not going to get your out of that division, you need fit lads who can play three?games?a week and turn in decent performances. That?s going to be the big problem.?
