The perception of many people about a correct guy is that the guy moves with worldly trends. The guy does what everybody is doing at a particular period. Whether such acts please God or fit into God?s will or not, is not important to them.
For instance, many believe that it is not fashionable or even possible to stay within a certain age bracket without having a sex partner outside marriage. Many believe it is improper to see an opportunity to steal money and fail to do so. To them, a correct guy is a guy that plays a fast one and defrauds the next person; a guy that tells lies; a Casanova.
Many have grown to see going to church?on Sunday?or identifying with a church as a social thing. To them, it is not fashionable to make so much noise about Jesus Christ in public. They believe that someone who does not do??what majority of people are doing is not a correct guy. They feel that someone who genuinely loves his or her spouse or spouse-to-be is not a correct guy.
Unfortunately, such people are wallowing in ignorance. Those who have the above orientation are not the correct guys at all. ?…God is angry with the wicked every day (Psalm?7:11?KJV).
The Bible says:??Do not conform any longer to the patterns of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then, you will be able to test and approve what God?s will is-his good, pleasing and perfect will? (Romans 12:2 NIV).
It is your orientation and attitude that determines your altitude in life. If for instance, you do certain things to assist your wife as regards domestic chores or you do something to assist your husband in his responsibilities, how will any outsider know what you have done to improve your relationship except you tell them? Besides, will it not be wiser to do just anything to make your marriage work than to hold back some good acts of love and destroy yourself? Listen! If you change the way you look at things, things will change the way they look.
A correct guy does not beat up or intimidate his wife and violate the rules of effective communication in marriage. A correct guy does not run to some mouth-smelling juju priest or fake prophet for counsel because of pressure. A correct guy does not treat the person?s wife or husband like a stranger.
Stop conforming to the foolishness of this world. Renew your mind so that you can please God. Then, you will become a correct guy indeed. Correct guys please God rather than offend him to please men.
