Nigerian social media personality Bobrisky has publicly requested women to stop sending him romantic advances via direct messages.

On Instagram, Bobrisky stated: “I don’t do girls… I too love Gbola. I will pick Gbola over my own life. We can be strictly friends but nothing more,” using colloquial Nigerian terminology to indicate exclusive attraction to male partners.

The statement coincides with renewed commentary from musician Portable regarding Bobrisky’s gender expression. During an appearance on the Echoroom podcast, Portable recounted past attempts to influence Bobrisky’s identity choices: “I am God-sent… I told Bobrisky to stop what he is doing. If you want to be a woman, be a woman. If you want to be a man, be a man.” He further questioned why someone “born male would present as a woman.”

This interaction references the pair’s documented history of public disagreements about gender presentation and personal choices. Neither statement indicates reconciliation of their differing perspectives on identity and expression.
