In this 21st Century when acquisition of knowledge has become the focus , of many, DawuSanfo, a farming community in the Eastern Region is still grappling with the problem of under development.
Unavailability of roads, poor infrastructure of schools building and the absence of a health facility are some of the basic amenities that the people are grappling with.
The only Junior High School block in town, build with mud bricks servers as a trap for both the school children and the teachers.
Apart from this, children of the school are at the mercy of the weather anytime it rains as they forced to join the primary section in one classroom for studies.
In an attempt to take their destiny into their own hands, the community tried to raise a shelter for the students but could not materializes as they could not get any support or assistance from the Government by way of supply of materials..
According to some members of the town who spoke with The Moment when this reporter visited the area, the only mode of transportation In the area is the Motor bike which they said comes to the town occasionally.
They disclosed that pregnant women in labour had to be carried on plastic chairs placed on benches and walk for hours to the next community to deliver before they are transferred to Koforidua for proper medical care and attention.
A spokesperson for the town, Mr. Isaac Oppng-Kyekyeku later told The Moment in an interview that though several reportage of their situation have been made in the media, no effort has been made by the Government to come to their aid.
