Democracy Hub has declared plans for a three-day protest from September 21-23, to be held at Revolutionary Square, opposite Jubilee House on Liberation Road, Accra.

In a statement released, Democracy Hub, conveners of the #FixTheCountry and #OccupyJulorbiHouse movements confirmed that they have formally informed the Inspector General of Police, Dr George Akuffo Dampare, as per the requirements of the Public Order Act. The protest is scheduled to commence at 6:00 AM on September 21 and conclude at 11:59 PM on September 23, 2024.

The demonstration, “A New Constitution for a New Generation,” highlights issues affecting Ghana, including socio-economic inequality, unemployment, poverty, state capture, nepotism, corruption, and the imperative for judicial independence.

Democracy Hub underscored its commitment to conducting a peaceful and orderly protest, echoing its previous efforts to advocate for societal change.

In September 2023, Democracy Hub’s #OccupyJulorbiHouse protest drew attention when some participants were detained by authorities, marking a significant moment in their ongoing campaign for reform.
