Me: Oh ok. What can I do for you?
Her: I would like to talk to you about the DSTV Explora
Me (pause): If I may ask, why do you want to talk to me about the DSTV Explora?
Her: It’s because the DSTV Explora has some of the most amazing features………
Me (interrupting): If I may come in here, ma’am, I think that DSTV is taking advantage of those of us that are subscribers. From about GHC188 a month for the premium bouquet some months ago, you are now charging GHC 335 or so per month. I know you have done so because of the falling cedi, but you are not considering the interests of your subscribers at all. Now that I am struggling to pay my monthly subscription, you call me to talk about DSTV Explora, which will mean some more expense, so how do you expect us to cope? I think that, with the greatest of respect, you should do something about your rates so that we subscribers will feel considered.
Her: Thank you very much. In fact we are working on our rates.
Me: I know you are saying this to console me, but I know what I have to pay and I have not received any text message to that effect (reducing rates). So I can understand you.
Her: Thanks so much for your time. I have noted your concerns down, have a nice day.
