Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn on Wednesday left for Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire, to attend the Heads of State Summit of the African Union (AU)-EU summit, according to the Ethiopian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The foreign ministry said Desalegn will on Wednesday join Ethiopian Foreign Minister Workneh Gebeyehu and other Ethiopian delegates who are taking part at the AU-EU summit.
Gebeyehu, who is in Abidjan since Monday, has been representing Ethiopia at the summit, with discussions held with delegations from other countries on the sidelines of the summit.
According to the Ethiopian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Gebeyehu on Tuesday discussed with Lithuanian Foreign Minister Lina Linkevicius and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belgium Didier Reynders on the sidelines of the ministerial meeting of the summit.
According to the ministry, Gebeyehu and Linkevicius agreed on the opening of office of the Honorary Consul of Lithuania in Ethiopia.
Gebeyehu has also joined IGAD Council of Ministers to conduct a consultative meeting to review the progress of the Revitalization Process of the South Sudan peace process with ministers and representatives of member countries on the margins of the summit. Enditem
