The Etihad Airways of the United Arab Emirates(UAE) will soon start flying to Luanda, the ambassador of that country to Angola, Khalid Salem Ali Bin Almheiri announced Thursday.
The ambassador was speaking to the press, after a meeting with the speaker of the Angolan parliament, Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos.
Almheiri highlighted that the two countries have signed an agreement in the field of civil aviation, which allows Etihad Airways to fly directly from Abu Dhabi to Luanda and vice versa.
The diplomat said he had also reviewed with the African speaker the bilateral agreements that will relaunch trade between the two countries.
“We cooperate with Angola in several areas of the country’s economy including agriculture,” he emphasized.
Almheiri said he also took the opportunity to invite the southern African country to be a member of the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace.
“We invited Angola to be a member of this parliament, so soon we will have a member of the Angolan parliament in the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace,” he said.
Angola and the UAE are members of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).
The two countries cooperate in the areas of oil, gas and agriculture, among others. Enditem
