The spokesperson of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), Rotimi Fashakin, has given assurances that the convention of the party slated for this Saturday in Abuja, will hold as scheduled.
Mr. Fashakin in a release Thursday evening said he found it necessary to make the clarification, owing to what he called ?outright falsehood that tended to insinuate that the CPC convention scheduled to hold on Saturday, 11th May, 2013 had been called off as a result of a Court injunction.?
He said that there was no such court injunction. He ascribed the reports to ?the handiwork of unscrupulous individuals who lost their case against the Party and have resorted to other extra-legal means.?
?We reiterate the fact that the Party?s convention shall hold as scheduled on Saturday, 11th May, 2013 at 10:00am and the venue remains Eagle Square, Abuja,? he added.
The CPC image maker also called on the party?s supporters and members to remain calm, adding that ?the Party remains resolute in ensuring that, the merger with the other political Parties, is implemented with undiminished pertinacity.?
