As part of the Federal Government Directive to CBN to reserve and finance Women across the country on Entrepreneurship Development Programme through financial institutions from the era marked N320 billion, the First Lady Borno State Hajiya Nana Kashim Shettima has sponsored over 500 women of different petty trading on capacity building and empowerment to access the said funds from the CBN.

The training which was organized by the Borno State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development from 16tj-18tj December 2014 at the Ministry of Women Affairs Conference Hall Musa Usman Secretariat t had trained 500 women on how to be self employed and boost their respective trades.
The areas of the training which include entrepreneurship training on how to establish or improve business enterprises, marketing plan, production plan and internship scheme had Resources Persons from the Entrepreneurship Development Center of the State Ministry of Poverty Alleviation and Youths Empowerment.
Declaring the training opened the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Women Affairs Hajiya Ladi Bappa who was ably represented by the Director of Women Affairs of the ministry Hajiya Hanawa Kolo commenced the First Lady for her efforts and concern while assuring the participants that the State Governor Kashim Shettima will ensure that the funds meant for borno state is judiciously utilized and the trainees benefit from it.
She also appealed to the participants to make adequate use of the opportunity granted them for being successful out of the over 5000 women that applied for the franking.
The Director Finance and Accounts of the ministry also assured the trainers that the funds if released will be judiciously disbursed to them to empower them accordingly.
The Resource Manager Hassana Mohammed said the participants have been enthusiastic and very optimistic on the scheme and assured adequate training for the 500 women.
Participants at the training scheme expressed satisfaction with the training and commended the Borno First Lady for sponsoring the training programme while appealing for the promised funds to be disbursed to them in due course..
They also Thanked God and Governor Shettima for his gestures to the women in the state.
