Free PassCo App Launched To Enhance Teaching & Learning

As part of its academic intervention of enhancing teaching and learning in the country , a software engineering firm called REVO Education has launched a free App christened: “PassCo”.

Free PassCo AppSpeaking at the launching in Accra, the Chief Executive Officer of REVO Education Mr. Archibald Anna, hinted that as a software engineering firm their aim is to bring Past Questions and Answers to BECE and WASSCE student in order to make education accessible and affordable.

According to him, the benefits of technology in education are enormous and REVO Education has been at the forefront of leading the change.

This he said, in order to make education easily accessible and affordable , it is imperative to incorporate technology into education delivery system.

“Students purchase a year’s set of Past Questions for at least GHC70.00. REVO Education’s PassCo App makes this resources available over a 25 year period at 10% of cost. By developing the the PassCo App , REVO Education have demonstrated the power of technology in making education accessible and affordable to all”, he explained.
This he said, REVO Education have not only reinforced the power of technology in education but also reinforced its commitment to help make education affordable to students and the government.

In 2014, REVO Education developed ‘KENKAN ‘ a platform for digitizing textbooks and making them available as Android applications.

The company currently has digitized 42 Textbooks from Primary 4- JHS 3. In addition, the company developed an Android App for Past Questions and Answers for all BECE and WASSCE subjects from 1990 -2015.

These resources in addition , MATH Formulas and English student Companion are available on the iLearn Tablet developed by REVO.

PassCo is an Android application that can be downloaded on Google Play Store. The total file size is 20MB and does not require internet after it has been downloaded and installed.
“ As we make this valuable resource available for FREE , we are most concerned about accessibility by students in deprived communities “, Mr. Archibald stated
According to him,their desire is to bridge the gap between students in deprived communities and those in the urban areas.

He therefore, seized the opportunity to appeal to international organizations and corporate bodies to come to their aid by donating affordable Android devices. The more devices we have, the more students we can reach.

The President of Ghana Mathematics Society Prof. Sitsofe E. Anku(PhD) lauded the giant step taken by REVO Education since it will go a long way to enhance teaching and learning in the country. This he said, the country should embrace mathematics in areas of life since its a foundation for national development.

He also advised all parents /guardians to endeavour to make this Free PassCo App available to their wards in order to help them come out with flying colours.
