Ghana Commercial Bank Limited (GCB) has donated GH? 8,500.00 to the ?Bechem Government Hospital for the construction of a mechanized borehole.
Presenting the cheque for the amount, the Bank?s Area Manager for Sunyani, Mr. Laud Hammond said it is of great importance to support this noble cause because of the importance of water to good health.
?Water is the foundation of life and having water at a hospital would go a long way to help save life and also provide excellent health ?care for patients? , Mr. Hammond said.
Dr. David ?Kofi Twumasi, who received the cheque on behalf of the hospital, was happy with the Bank?s gesture.
He said GCB?s donation came in at the right time as cost of providing potable water for the Hospital just kept rising.
Promoting optimum health ? care forms a key part of the Bank?s support to communities and GCB sets aside a chunk of its annual Corporate Social Responsibility budget to the health sector.
