The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has condemned reports circulating in both the local and foreign media that it has settled on former Chelsea boss Avram Grant as the new Black Stars Coach.

The Ghana FA believes their comments last Friday on who takes over the Black Stars job has been misconstrued by some journalists who are backing the Israeli for the top football job in Ghana.
According to Ghana FA, the former Chelsea manager was ranked as the first choice from the three-man shortlist who were interviewed by an independent panel. Nonetheless, the Ghana FA would have to work out certain terms and come to an agreement before any official announcement is made.
Juan Ignacio Mart?nez and Michel Pont were the two other candidates interviewed for the vacant Black Stars job and believe the job will centre on requirement and conditions.
“The committee has submitted its report and we believe that all the three who were interviewed are meritorious of occupying the position of the Black Stars coach but in terms of ranking our preference is Avram Grant and Jimenez [Juan Ignacio Mart?nez] is second choice,” GFA President told the media a press session in Accra on Friday.
“So we will engage Avram on the details of the job requirement and expectations which will span from remuneration and conditions of service. If an agreement is reached with him then we will appoint him as our coach if not then we will move to our second choice.” The Ghana FA added
But according to inside sources within the FA the former Chelsea boss is demanding a minimum of $120, 000 as his monthly salary and his possession of an Israeli passport must also be dealt with to avoid Ghana facing political sanctions.
The appointment of a new coach will fill the vacuum following the parting of ways with Kwesi Appiah in September.
