Ghana Armed Forces Vow Professionalism for Election Stability

Ghana’s Chief of Defense Staff, Lieutenant General Thomas Oppong-Peprah, has pledged that the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) will uphold professionalism to ensure peace and stability during the upcoming December elections.

In a meeting with National Chief Imam Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, Lieutenant General Oppong-Peprah I affirmed GAF’s commitment, alongside other security agencies, to safeguard Ghana’s borders against external threats.

“We assure our esteemed leaders and citizens alike that we will diligently uphold the peace and security of our nation,” Lieutenant General Oppong-Peprah declared. “As we approach the elections, we are prepared to fulfil our responsibilities with utmost professionalism.”

He emphasized the importance of collaboration with religious and community leaders in maintaining national unity and security.

“Our duty as the Ghana Armed Forces is to ensure the safety, stability, and peaceful environment necessary for democratic processes,” Lieutenant General Oppong-Peprah added. “We seek the support and prayers of all Ghanaians as we work towards a secure electoral period and beyond.”

The assurance from GAF comes amid preparations to secure the electoral process and uphold Ghana’s democratic traditions.
