The Member of Parliament(MP) for Gomoa Central, Mrs Naana Eyiah Quansah has appealed to Muslims to use this year’s Ramadan to pray to Allah to intervene against the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to the MP, the government and Health experts were able to manage COVID-19 well to contain the pandemic, but Allah’s intervention was the best to end the dreadful disease forever.
Mrs Naana Eyiah Quansah made the appeal when she presented food beverages and other items to Muslim Communities in the Gomoa Central Constituency of the Central region.
The items included; 50 bags of sugar, 20 cartons of tin Milk, 30 boxes of Lipton tea, 250 bags of sachet water.
Mrs. Eyiah Quansah who is also the Deputy Minister of Lands, Forestry and Natural Resources said government would continue to seek advice from health experts and called for support to contain the virus.
She asked Muslims to use the Ramadan period to seek the face of Allah to heal the land as the National Chief Imam and others had assured the Nation of strict adherence to the restrictions put in place to help win the fight against COVID-19.
The MP praised Muslim communities in the Gomoa Central for their sterling support and prayers for the Country and urged them to pray for peaceful election in 2020 as the government was doing everything possible to improve the living conditions of Ghanaians.
Alhaji Baaba Adam Musah, Gomoa Central Constituency Nasara Coordinator who received their behalf thanked the MP for the Support.
He said it was not the first time Mrs Eyiah Quansah was donating towards the Ramadan and all activities of Muslim Communities and praised her for her resilience.
Alhaji Musah assured the MP and Government that Imams and the entire Muslim community would use the Ramadan period to pray for Allah’ s intervention to contain the COVID-19 pandemic.
In a related development, Mrs Naana Eyiah Quansah expressed appreciation to Gomoa Central branch of the Ghana National Tailors and Dress Makers Association (GNTDMA) for the donation of nosemarks and gallons of liquid soap to help fight the COVID-19 in the area.
She said the Association in the Gomoa Central had shown fantastic commitment in the fight against the pandemic.
Madam Florence Benson, President of the Association said members decided to use local materials to sew nosemasks to support the MP to distribute to people to contain the disease.
