Project Glass is all about being able to wear your computer

Google’s Project Glass is an attempt to make wearable computing conventional. It?s about a smart pair of glasses with an integrated heads-up display and a battery hidden inside the frame.

The idea of wearable computing is not new as different companies have delved into it in the past but given Google?s pedigree as big spenders and giant in the tech world, you could probably assume they would see it through.

Project Glass is expected to be made availabe to the general public by 2014, at the earliest. Howerver, develoers will be able to have the ‘explorer edition’ units some time around 2013 with a ‘broad consumer offering’ arriving later.

The display is expected to be packed with a transparent LCD or AMOLED display to put information in front of your eyeballs.

It’s location-aware thanks to a camera and GPS, and you can scroll and click on information by tilting your head, something that is apparently quite easy to master. Google Glasses will also use voice input and output. Reports suggest it would run an Android OS. It includes a small screen in front of your eye and will have motion sensors, GPS and either 3G or 4G data connections. You could expect connection via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth 4.0

You would probably be a super being  with the ability to have tiny people talking to you in the corner of your eye, to find your way around using SatNav and other useful information.

Whether Google Ads would pop up like while using the Glasses is what we can’t say yet or how reliable would it be in Nigeria.

While the price is exected to be around N127,000 a piece. The question left to be answered is would you look cool wearing them or just a depressed dork?
