The international conference will hold in September

The Rivers State Government, on Tuesday, noted that the forthcoming third international oil and gas conference was conceived to enhance legislation and development of the sub-sector.

Evans Bipi, the Chairman, Energy and Natural Resources Committee of the State House of Assembly, explained that the conference, scheduled to hold from September 25 to 27, would be promoted to maximise resources.

He said that the Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (PHCCIMA) would mobilise resources to hold the conference.

Dandison Gbupo, Chairman Oil and Gas Trade Group, explained that the conference would also enhance economic empowerment in the state.

Gbupo noted that the previous conferences were successful, as they opened new foreign contacts for the State. According to him, the conferences have restored investor confidence and reassured the people of sustainable development in the state.

The conference, with the theme ‘Nigerian Content Act and Deregulation: Issues and Prospects’, will cover seven key topics to be handled by foreign and local resource persons.
