Group Petitions Mahama To Return Gitmo Detainees

Concerned Citizens For Ghana Abroad Inc. (CCGA) has added its voice to the calls on President Mahama to rescind decision for accepting the two Gitmo detainees.

In a petition signed and issued by the group’s President, Eunice Nyarko Bosea, she indicated that President Mahama seems not to understand the numerous cries coming from his people but stands on the news media to defend his ignorance that the two detainees brought to Ghana are not potentially high risk to the country.

gitmo.jpgShe said, “President Mahama’s decision on receiving the two Gitmo detainees on humanitarian grounds and integrating them in the Ghanaian society is obsolete.”

The group pointed out that Khalid Muhammad Salih Al-Dhuby and Mahmud Umar Muhammad Ben Atef who were captives by American forces in Afghanistan fought alongside Al-Quaeda against United States of America.

The two are said to be extremely dangerous since they have had militant training with the dreaded al-Qaeda group.

Concerned Citizens For Ghana Abroad Inc. also said, the two freed detainees are Islamic extremists who are well trained in slaughtering people’s heads, killing people who have different faith and imposing Sharia laws and terror acts on innocent civilians.

‘They are serious in taking civilized regimes and mandating their rule. In effect they have no mercy, compassion and no-nonsense tolerance for those who oppose them.”

The group could not understand why President Mahama has accepted the two detainees even though the United States Congress voted against President Obama’s decision for bringing Gitmo detainees on American soil.

“Mahama should equally listen to the outpour of Ghanaians,’ the group stated.

Below is the group’s petition:

CONCERNED CITIZENS FOR GHANA ABROAD INC. (CCGA)
A PETITION TO THE GOVERNMENT OF GHANA – “RETURN EX-GITMO DETAINEES”
PETITION:

TELL PRESIDENT MAHAMA TO RETURN “GITMO – DETAINEES”

Dear Citizens of Ghana:

It has become imperative for Concerned Citizens for Ghana Abroad Inc. (CCGA) – “An Organization which seeks to develop our communities by empowering our people” to take the initiative to call all Ghanaians to petition against President John Mahama’s decision for accepting the two “Gitmo” detainees in Ghana, namely Khalid Muhammad Salih Al-Dhuby and Mahmud Umar Muhammad Ben Atef.

These two are captives by American forces in Afghanistan who fought alongside Al-Quaeda against United States of America, the two are said to be extremely dangerous, have had militant training, are Islamic extremists who are well trained in slaughtering people’s heads, killing people who have different faith and imposing Sharia laws and terror acts on innocent civilians. They are serious in taking civilized regimes and mandating their rule. In effect they have no mercy, compassion and no-nonsense tolerance for those who oppose them.

On an issue discussed on Fox News in America, Thomas Joscelyn stated that these ex-convicts are indeed dangerous to any society or country who are allies of United States of America, they are a source of Islam radicalization and can engage in a possible uprising and war, condemning any good they can offer to a country. In fact they showed reports and wiki released information on the two “Gitmo” detainees which means they are high risk, dangerous and threat to any place they find themselves on mother earth. https://www.facebook.com/groups/1459013324397703/permalink/1526842457614789/?__mref=message_bubble
Civil and religious organizations in Ghana including the Concern Citizens of Ghana, the Ghana Christian Council Association, Ghana Moslem Association, political dignitaries, civil unions, Ghanaian citizens home and abroad, on different social media sites have expressed their opinions against the President and his cabinet on their decision for accepting the two Gitmo detainees.

However President Mahama seems not to get it, he stands on the news media to defend his innocence and ignorance to these statements that the two are not potentially high risk to Ghana. President Mahama’s decision on receiving the two Gitmo detainees on humanitarian grounds and integrating them in the Ghanaian society is obsolete.

Now enough is enough, it’s time for action. CCGA calls on all Ghanaian citizens home and abroad in the Diaspora who cares for the future of Ghana to say “NO TO GITMO DETAINEES”

Remind President Mahama on the following statements:
• If the United States Congress voted against President Obama’s decision for bringing Gitmo detainees on American soil and he obliged. Mahama should equally listen to the outpour of Ghanaians.
• Is President Mahama decisions above the citizens of Ghana and above the laws of the land?
• Is President Mahama a democratic president or tyrannical president?
• If the above analysis are right then the citizens of Ghana are right to tell him “Return Gitmo – Detainees”

To all Concerned Ghanaian Citizens
