Ghana defender Daniel Opare insists he is at his best playing at his preferred right-back position.
The 22-year-old hugely impressed on his return to the Black Stars in last week?s 2-2 draw with Turkey in an international friendly match.
Opare, who plays for Belgium club Standard Liege provided one of the assists for Asamoah Gyan?s brace in the match played in Istanbul with a sumptuous cross.
He is now expected to be named in the next Ghana team for next month?s crucial 2014 World Cup qualifier against Zambia on the back of his impressive form for both club and country.
The former Real Madrid star however says he is better of playing in his natural right-back position as to the make-shift left-back role where he has not done badly in the past.
?My favourite position is right back because that was where my reputation grew as a player,? he said.
?When I play there, I feel stronger and I move more with ease. I can hit the lines a bit more often and cross easily into the box.
?Sometimes, I have to play as a left-back when there are challenges in terms of injuries or player unavailability but I still manage to play the role very well.
?However, I will always prefer to play at right-back.?
