Disappointed Moro Abubakar has accepted his last minute snub from Ghana CHAN squad in good faith.
The forceful Hearts of Oak player was one of four casualties to coach Maxwell Konadu?s final cut for the tournament that kick off on January 11 in South Africa.
Abubakar alongside experienced Heart of Lions midfielder Edmund Owusu Ansah, Ebusua Dwarfs striker Richard Gadze and Wa All Stars defender Joshua Otoo failed to make the final squad after a week training camp in Namibia.
These four players will have to return back home as the rest of the squad head to South Africa for the tournament.
And though disappointed in his failure to make the final 23-man squad, forceful Phobian midfielder believes there are better times ahead.
?There is no footballer from the local league who wouldn?t be disappointed at missing out of the CHAN having come so close but my time will come,? he said.
?I am disappointed, but not worried as I truly believe the final list was made on merit, I know my time will come.?
?I?m happy my performance in the league is good enough to earn me a call-up.
?As a midfielder, my aim is to play well in the league to reflect the quality and ambitions of Hearts. Black Stars awaits me as a player.?
Ghana is drawn alongside Congo, Libya and Ethiopia in Group C of the 2014 CHAN tournament that is being hosted by South Africa.
