Gen David Sejusa
He said the Forum for Democratic Change party (FDC) needs a person like him to cause regime change in the country.
Commenting on the opposition split over his active role in politics while still a serving military officer ahead of the 2016 general elections, Sejusa said: ?Those who associate this huge force with me wanting change alone are mistaken.?
?I am not imposing myself on opposition.
?I am consulting them, sharing my vision and strategy with them. Broaden the revolutionary base from the opposition groups to all, including those in NRM and all who hitherto have not associated with these opposition parties,? he told New Vision.
?I am also joining the masses for liberation. I am only doing my part and that is to give ideological guidance, share knowledge and experience, improve on building capacity, help harmonise strategy and the tactics best suited for the struggle.?
Lately, Sejusa has been meeting political figures in opposition parties at their respective headquarters in Kampala, such as Democratic Party (DP), JEEMA and Uganda People?s Congress (UPC) to chart way forward for 2016.
However, FDC wants him to first get discharged from the army.
?We will not have any political collaboration with you [Sejusa] until your discharge from the army is effected,? read a recent FDC letter to the army general.
