The former Heart of Midlothian midfielder was alleged to have brought his football career to an end after the demise of US second-tier side Phoenix FC in 2013.
Laryea who signed a two-year deal with US-based Club Phoenix FC failed to feature for Club after the USL cancelled out the Franchise rights of the Club?s owners citing multiple reasons from the failure to pay players on time and the submitting of deceptive and imprecise financial statements.
The former Vitesse Ahiem midfielder has since remained inactive without any Club which led to many reports indicating he has quit football.
But the ex-Hearts of Oak player insists he is still active as he is set to sign a lucrative contract very soon.
?Many people are saying I have quit football but I haven?t. I am still active and I believe I can play some few more years before bringing my career to an end,? he told Ghanasportsonline.com exclusively.
?The energy is still there. I have played the game for long and I really understand it and that is why I sometimes get the opportunity to analyze the game on TV. Because they believe I know much about the game?.
?So I think am still strong and can play just as the young ones are doing. I will soon sign a lucrative deal for a club?
Laryea has had stints with Russian side?s Terek Grozny and Lokomotiv Moscow as well as Israeli top-flight sides Hapoel Tel Aviv, Maccabi Alhi Nazareth.
