Ibrahim Tanko in training with the Cameroon national team
Ex Ghana forward Ibrahim Tanko has revealed his desire to coach the Black Stars in future.
The 36-year-old is currently the assistant coach of the Cameroon national team under his German mentor Volker Finke.
Tanko has helped the Indomitable Lions qualify to the playoff stage of the 2014 World Cup qualifiers where they could be drawn against Ghana.
The ex Borussia Dortmund striker has already revealed his wish to avoid his country at the playoff stage says he will like to return to Ghana to coach the Black Stars one day.
?It is something that I have been longing for for sometime now,? he told Kumasi-based Angel FM.
?People are even surprised that as a Ghanaian I am coaching the Cameroon national team.
?So it is something I definitely hope to in future, to come and work for Ghana.?
Tanko retired from active football six years ago after battling series of injuries while with German club SC Freiburg.
He took to coaching a year later where he was named the reserves team coach at Freiburg before leaving for a coaching adventure in Asia with Urawa Red Diamonds where Volke Finke was the first team manager.
Tanko then followed his German mentor in joining the coaching staff of the Cameroon national team earlier this year.
