The lawmaker representing Lagos East Senatorial District, Senator Gbenga Ashafa, on Sunday expressed his disappointment over the abrupt postponement of the General Elections which had been earlier scheduled for February 2015.
The Lagos East lawmaker made this known at the Annual General Meeting of the Magodo Residents’ Association in Magodo.
“It is quite sad and unfortunate that the much awaited general Elections have been postponed. The security reasons given by INEC is baseless. We are indeed disappointed by this development.
“They may have succeeded in postponing the elections, but that would not draw us back as progressive minds that believe in Change. No matter what, the All Progressives Congress will come out victorious come March 28 and April 11 respectively.” He said

Earlier on the same day, the Lawmaker had a meeting with some traditional leaders within Somolu-Bariga axis, he enjoined them to preach peace to their subjects by maintaining peace and order despite the postponement of the elections.?
