Interparty Dialogue Committee has met to ensure how they can promote peace and tolerance after the outcome of the 2012 election petition in Ashaiman.

The meeting saw different institutions and the various representatives from the various political parties, Christians and Muslims Chiefs coming together to share ideas on how to promote peace.

The Chairman of the Committee, Chief Supt. David Eklu noted that, the enthusiasm and concern shown by the participants exhibited that the people of Ashaiman are for peace. He called on all the institutions to work with the Police to engage the public on crime prevention to achieve the vision of Ashaiman.

He also noted that the police are doing their best even though there are not enough police stations in the town.

According to him the population in Ashaiman exceeds 3000, but it is rather unfortunate that the police stations are few.

He therefore appealed to all stakeholders to help build more police stations to help tackle crimes in community.

He commended National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) and Star Ghana for their support to the committee, and also assured the residents to rely totally on the police for their security because they are equal to the task.
