The Ghana Education Service (GES) says full scale investigations has been launched in collaboration with the West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) on the alleged examination malpractice which occurred at the J.T cluster of schools.

A statement signed by Mr Charles Parker Allotey, Head of Public Relations, GES and copied to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) on Saturday, said management?s attention had been drawn by publications in the dailies regarding the just ended Basic Education Certificate Examination (B.E.C.E).

It said it was unfortunate that the incident had come at a time when the GES painstakingly reminded all invigilators and supervisors about the serious consequences of engaging in such examination malpractice during orientation sessions.

It stated that perpetrators of such malpractice would receive their due deterrent punishment if found culpable.

The statement said the GES wish to assure the public and other stakeholders that its commitment to provide quality education for the teaming children would not waver in the light of these isolated setbacks.

It appreciated efforts of the newspaper for uncovering such fraud and appealed to parents and guardians, religious bodies and the media to continually educate children to desist from such acts.
