CAIRO — A vessel from the French navy participating in the search for the Egyptian airplane that crashed over Mediterranean last month has received signals from the seabed that might be from one of the data recorders, Egyptian Ministry of Civil Aviation said on Wednesday.

In a press release, the ministry said the French vessel “La Place” of the French navy, has received through its search equipment signals from the seabed of the wreckage search area, assumed to be from one of the data recorders. (Egypt-plane)

BAGHDAD — The UN children fund (UNICEF) on Wednesday warned that at least 20,000 Iraqi children remain trapped in the city of Fallujah where Iraqi security forces are fighting to drive out the Islamic State (IS) militants from the city.

DAMASCUS — At least 15 people were killed when airstrikes targeted a town in the northwestern province of Idlib on Wednesday, a monitor group reported.
Airstrikes by unidentified aircrafts targeted the town of Sieger in the countryside of Idlib, leaving two women and two children among those killed, said the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. (Syria-Idlib)

JERUSALEM — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu slammed the French efforts to organize a peace summit to restart peace talks with the Palestinians, saying peace is not achieved with international conferences.
