Nairobi Securities Exchange 20 Share Index for the second consecutive session defied jitters arising from disputed poll results on Thursday to gain 53 points and cross above the 3,900 mark, a 15-month high.

The index ended the trading session at 3,903.29, 1.4 percent higher from the previous session where it had risen by 31.86 points.

At least 10 large stocks at the bourse went up to help push the benchmark index up. They included leading telecom Safaricom (2 percent), Kenya Power (7.3 percent), East African Breweries Ltd (3 percent) and Nation Media Group (5 percent). Enditem
