Mzee Suleiman died on Thursday at a hospital where he was admitted.

“I’ve been deeply saddened by the death of Mzee Omar Selemani, who has been courageous and wise, a person who the party will miss a lot,” said Kikwete.

He noted that he once worked with Mzee Selemani and always admired his capacity to unite others in strengthening CCM, particularly in Dodoma region.

“His death has not only been hurtful to his family but also to all CCM members all over the country and, in a unique way, to CCM members in Dodoma region because they benefited much from his many contributions, hard work, diligence and honesty and integrity,” added Kikwete.

“So, I express my condolences to the family of the late Mzee Selemani for losing their beloved one who was, without doubt, a very important pillar for the development and prosperity of the family,” he said.

He assured Mzee Omar Selemani’s family that he shared their sorrows and asked them to be courageous during this difficult time knowing that everything comes from God.

“I ask God, who is full of mercy and grace, to rest the soul of the late Mzee Omar Selemani in eternal peace, Amen,” Kikwete stressed.
